FEATURED PAIN

MIGRAINE

Migraine disease is a complex neurological disease that includes symptoms such as sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, and severe head pain. To be considered chronic, a person has to have 15 or more headache days per month. While 36 million American experience migraine, only four million have been diagnosed as chronic. There are four phases of a migraine attack: prodrome, aura, headache, and postdrome. As there are no biological markers for migraine, a diagnosis is based on clinical history as well as the exclusion of other medical conditions.
